Some people say it is, some say it’s not.

no it’s bacteria that doesent flush out twice a day as it should, but however if left untreated it can turn into something serious.

It’s not ~always~ an STD. Usually it is an overgrowth of our natural vaginal bacterias. I imagine someone could get a UTI from it quite easily.

No. Its a disruption of the normal bacteria in the vagina that causes an overgrowth of other types of bacteria.. It is not something that is transmitted from person to person sexually.

Also known as gardnerella, bacterial vaginitis, or “B.V.,” is an infection caused by rod-shaped bacteria. These bacteria normally live in the vagina in small numbers, but can increase and cause symptoms if the normal balance of the vagina is upset. It is not a sexually transmitted disease, although it may be more likely to occur after intercourse. It can also occur in women who have never had sex.
BV can not cause some one to get a UTI.
